I recently completed a course on FMOD with Unity Integration to deepen my understanding of interactive audio implementation and enhance my sound design skills for video games. Through this course, I learned how to work with sound emitters, create and organize audio assets, and implement adaptive music using FMOD’s powerful live updatefeature for real-time mixing. I also gained hands-on experience with FMOD listeners, 2D soundscapes, fade-ins and fade-outs, trigger events, parameters (such as health and footsteps), and the FMOD mixer to balance complex game audio environments.
As part of the course, I followed along by developing my own project using Viking Village, applying all of these techniques to create an immersive and dynamic soundscape. I’ve uploaded a detailed video walkthrough of this project to my YouTube channel, so please check it out!
